Dayzee was an adult female raccoon. She lived with us for many years before she passed away in October 2009 at 14. Raccoons are native to North America and can be found from Canada to Panama, and have become colonized in Europe after escaping from fur farms. They are intellegent and curious and highly adaptable. They are omniverous, which means they will eat anything. They often perform "dousing" behaviour with their food, which looks like washing but isn't. Dayzee was very overweight when she came to Bear Creek, she is normal raccoon size now. She is very sweet. To book a private tour click here. Bear Creek Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary is not open |
